In order to achieve the cause of responsible tourism, Alila Diwa Goa is proud to be the first hotel in Goa to install an automated sustainable drinking water bottling plant on its premises, in collaboration with Boon (Formerly known as Swajal WaterCube).
Alila Diwa Goa, KNOWN FOR ITS SUSTAINABLE DESIGN and distinguished by an unprecedented extent of personalised service, honed artisanship, and bespoke journeys, has set a new standard for creating rare and intimate experiences this year.
The “Zero Mile Water” programme is based on the circular economy principle, in which an automated in-house system washes, sterilises, and fills glass bottles, not only reducing plastic waste but also eliminating carbon emissions associated with transporting the bottles from a plant to the hotel.
Boon’s proprietary Clairvoyant IoT platform monitors the quality of each drop of drinking water. Guests can scan a unique QR code to get insights into the drinking water quality and impact in real-time.

Single-use plastics can damage beaches and the beauty of nature. The resort takes great care to reduce its environmental impact by using mostly local materials and collaborating with the environment to preserve indigenous ecosystems.

Initiatives such as the use of Areca leaf plates and bowls for outdoor catering events, which are made from naturally fallen palm leaves, aid in the reduction of plastic waste. Alia Diwa strives to uphold its commitment to sustainability; in support of the #NoPlasticStraws campaign, it has stopped serving straws with beverages since February 2018. Such initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint have been executed, demonstrating the organisation’s firm commitment to respecting and protecting the environment.
