IHCL Goa Collaborates with the Government of Goa on World Youth Skills Day

IHCL Partners with Goa Government

In a significant move towards enhancing skill development, IHCL Goa, represented by Senior Vice President Mr. Ranjit Phillipose, has signed a memorandum of understanding with eleven of Goa’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). This partnership aims to provide students and youth with training opportunities at various IHCL properties across the state.

Mr. Phillipose, speaking at the occasion, highlighted the critical need to align skills with industry demands. “Recognising the challenges faced by both young entrants into the workforce and industries across sectors, our goal is to match skills to demand. As Goa’s leading tourism player, IHCL is proud to shoulder this commitment. Our belief in sustainable growth is deeply rooted in our legacy, aligned with diversity, excellence, and positive outcomes. This initiative to train 100,000 skilled youth by 2030 further strengthens our objective of ‘Paathya’ to promote economic growth while maintaining social and environmental impact,” he said.

The event was presided over by the Hon. Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, and attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Gopal Parsekar, Director of Rural Development Agency; Mr. Vijay Saxena, Director of Planning, Statistics, and Evaluation; Mr. Gaurish Dhond, Chairperson of ITI, Panaji; Mr. Prashant Handigund, South India Head of Tata Technologies; and Mr. Prasad Loliyenkar, IAS, Director of Education, Government of Goa.

In response to the Chief Minister’s clarion call for ‘Kaushalya Goem, Khushal Goem’ (Skilled Goa, Happy Goa), IHCL Goa will offer six months of on-the-job training to students enrolled in hospitality courses. The training will cover four key departments: Food Production, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, and Front Office.

Dr. Pramod Sawant emphasized the importance of skill development in making optimum use of human resources and achieving self-reliance (Atma Nirbhar) for Goa. Mr Ranjit Phillipose invited students to visit IHCL hotels, encouraging them to pursue hospitality-driven courses at Goa’s ITIs. This initiative underscores IHCL Goa’s steadfast commitment to skilling and uplifting the youth of the region.
